ONLINE EDUCATION
A number of efforts are currently undertaken with respect to the attempts of the distance learning higher education community to resolve the issues of Online Education Recognition of courses and degree programs. The Department of Education has determined that Online Education Recognition needs to be implicitly included in the scope of recognition of any recognized distance learning accreditation agency.
Distance Education Universities have been routinely including distance learning accreditation in its in-depth review of all agencies seeking initial or continued Online Education Recognition. Consequently, all Online Education Recognition decisions made include a determination as to whether or not the scope of Online Education Recognition includes the accreditation of distance education. The Department of Education has finally granted Online Education Recognition to both private and non-private distance education institutions.
